Our story begins with Melinda Jane and her passion for all things hair, her desire to deliver the very best guest experience and her concern for the future of our planet.
Melinda has spent her entire career devoted to her craft. She's won multiple awards and even travelled as far as London to learn from the very best. But being lauded as a great hairdresser and hair stylist - skilled in cutting, colouring and styling - isn't the full picture.
Melinda's vision has always been to deliver an outstanding client experience, bringing that personal touch often lost in larger studios. From home-baked brownies to freshly brewed coffee or a glass of champagne at the end of a long week. An environment where conversation flows and clients become friends.
This vision became a reality in 2015 with the launch of Bel Cheveux in Sydney. The brand quickly built a loyal following and Melinda attracted a team of talented, passionate hairdressers who share her values.
Since the very beginning, the team have been committed to an ethical approach. One that delivers stylish results for clients, with minimal impact on our environment - minus any nasty, synthetic ingredients.
To marry our ethical approach, we needed to partner with plant-based, cruelty-free, all-natural haircare brands. Australian businesses that share our principles. The PURE product range and Apotecari Bioactive Hair Care are the perfect fit. At the forefront of sustainability, ethical values and environmental responsibility, the brands deliver these ideals without compromising on luxury, using 100% certified organic formulas that work for your skin and hair.
Our newest endeavour, BOHO (Byron Organic Hair Origin), launched in Byron Bay in 2022. It's the next stage in our journey toward creating a sustainable hair salon group devoted to organic hair care - safe, gentle, sustainable products - and championing great style.
In the last three years, PURE has reduced carbon emissions by 286 tonnes.
They've planted 70,000 native, bee-friendly trees to increase bee habitats.
